Steingaden is a municipality and parish village in the Weilheim-Schongau district in Upper Bavaria. Steingaden is a state-approved resort. With the internationally well-known Wieskirche and the Welfenmünster, the municipality is home to two monuments of outstanding importance.  The municipality currently has ~ 3,000 inhabitants.  Steingaden is located directly on the well-known Jacobsweg and also on the King Ludwig Way The proximity to the ski areas attracts many skiers in winter, who regularly stop off at the Alte Post.

General information:

The "Alte Post" inn is a listed building, but the ballroom is not. The company has been closed since November 2022 for reasons of age. The guest rooms are all in need of renovation, but were recently rented out to hikers or cyclists for little money. The property is brewery-free. A change of use with regard to residential property for the 2nd & 3rd floor is being examined but is probably conceivable. The ballroom could also be converted into a residential property accordingly. 

 

There is only a pastry shop directly on the market square, but no gastronomy. Parking is directly in front of and along the house. The Alte Post is a house with a lot of tradition but just as much potential.  Even Google suggests stopping at the Alte Post when searching for the municipality of Steingaden.
